This season PR Elite and PRJW are working together to offer parents and wrestlers the opportunity to practice Monday - Thursday from 6:30pm to 8pm in the Green Gym at the High School. In addition to practices, wrestlers will also have the opportunity to compete in the North Hills and the WAWA wrestling leagues. The goal is to get the wrestlers as many matches as possible with the hopes that they will compete in both leagues.

The North Hills League (NHWL) includes Hampton, North Allegheny, Shaler, Mars, Fox Chapel, Avonworth, Pittsburgh Project and North Hills.  Pine-Richland Wrestlers participating in the NHWL are asked to attend scheduled matches and tournaments throughout the year.

Match Nights

Each of the local schools will host match nights throughout the year. Wrestlers will be matched with partners of similar age, weight, and experience. Match nights are an extension of practice and a great opportunity test our skills and experience in a live wrestling situation. There are generally 4 to 5 match nights throughout the season for both experienced and novice wrestlers. Match nights normally replace practice for the day scheduled. Pine-Richland will host (2) match nights each season (1 Novice & 1 Experienced) to support this effort and volunteers will be required to help run the event.

Tournaments

The NHWL established the "Road Warrior" tournament series wherein competitors accumulate points based on finishing position in weekend Road Warrior Tournaments. Based on point totals, the top 25 wrestlers in each age/weight division will receive a special recognition at the end of the season. The team with the most points will also be recognized. The season ends with the Annual NHWL Road Warrior Classic Tournament. To support the league and the associated programs, wrestlers are asked to attend a minimum of (4) tournaments during the season (3 for Novice). Pine-Richland will host (1) tournament and volunteers will be required to help run the event.

The WAWA League has matches on Saturdays beginning in January. The league is comprised of 24 teams including Seneca Valley, West Allegheny, Quaker Valley, Moon, Montour, Cannon-Mac, Butler, Aliquippa and Ambridge. Your wrestler will complete within the league during the wrestling season (January - February) on 5 Saturdays at one of the 24 schools. Your wrestler is hand matched during weekly pairing meetings against wrestlers of similar age, experience and weight. The season ends with a year-end tournament. Wrestlers with 2 years or less compete on the last Sunday in February and wrestlers with 3 or more years of experience compete on the last Saturday in February.
